We had a fabulous girls weekend at Oughtershaw Hall and couldnt have asked for a better stay. From the moment we arrived, Ben was so lovely and welcoming incredibly informative and kind enough to give us a great tour of the house, which really set the tone for the weekend. The hall itself is stunning, with incredible views all around and a beautiful, peaceful setting. We loved the walk down the beck, and were thrilled to even spot a red squirrel, which felt really special. The indoor pool was a real highlight and perfect for relaxing and having fun. We also had a lot of laughs especially scaring the kids by convincing them the house was haunted!. All in all, an unforgettable stay in a truly special place wed absolutely love to return and would highly recommend Oughtershaw Hall for a memorable group getaway.
This is the most amazing place I have ever stayed in. We booked it for my husbands 60th for family and friends. The pictures dont do it justice. It was actually a privilege to stay there. The deco and fixtures were all to the very highest standard. Even the art on the walls was the very best. The views and surroundings are stunningly beautiful with your very own river, which we had a dip in as we like to wild swim. And then theres the pool and sauna!! The pool is much bigger than it looks on the pics and we all enjoyed it, especially the kids!! Then there is Ben, who meets you on your arrival. He maintains the grounds and does an amazing job, but he is also very passionate about the property. He is full of knowledge on its history and the area. This is a very special place, perfect for a special occasion. It was an amazing experience, a privilege and an honour to stay there!!

Tara was great and let us know everything before our stay. Ben explained what we needed to know on arrival, including how to use the pool and sauna. He was very helpful. The house was stunning. The facilities were incredible and all rooms and bathrooms were furnished to a high standard. The grounds were beautiful and we had a lovely holiday.
Excellent location and facilities. Ben was a brilliant host who made us feel very welcome and comfortable
What a fabulous property Oughtershaw Hall is. We had an amazing week there with the whole family to celebrate Mums 90th birthday. We were met by Ben who gave us the full tour and explained everything and even gave us some of the houses history. The welcome pack was amazing, so big and varied and the flowers and bubbly much appreciated. There was even a doggy welcome pack which was a lovely touch. It took us a while to orientate ourselves as the house is so vast. The house is just beautiful and very well maintained. All the bedrooms were comfortable, we were spoilt for choice for sitting areas and the kitchen was a lovely space to enjoy family meals. The pool was great and very popular as was the river walk which was very much appreciated especially by Sassie the dog. All in all a very special place for a very special occasion and we all agreed that we will be back.

I have just come back from having my 70th birthday celebrations with 15 of us in total, This property is absolutely gorgeous, it was spotlessly clean and the quality of all the furnishings was fabulous. I would like to thank Ben the Estate manager who was there to welcome us and give us a tour of the property. I would give this property at 10 out of 10 and will definitely be returning again in the future
Oughtershaw Hall is an incredible house and we all loved every minute of our stay there. I would have no hesitation in recommending staying at this house, the area is beautiful and none of us wanted to leave the house because of the amazing facilities. We had two six year olds with us and they didnt want t get out of the swimming pool.
Unique fabulous property. Great location if you want to escape to The countryside Excellent venue for entertaining a larger group Cant wait to go back
A fantastic place and everything was thought of. The actual house was amazing and situated in a beautiful, private location next to the River! The work on the upkeep is top level and everything was brilliant! The pool and sauna where so good and clean, I wish I was back there. It was a perfect stay.
Fabulous property in a wonderful secluded location. From the stream side walk, the comfortable bedrooms, thoughtfully restored and decorated lounges, well equipped kitchen and not to mention the pool and sauna the property ticked all the boxes. It was a perfect week for our group of twelve, aged 12 to 70, with all the walks and scenery to see locally. Special mention to Ben for his welcome and help. Somewhere we would all definitely want to go back to.
What a beautiful home, tastefully renovated and with fabulous extras such as sauna and pool. Ben is a star and could not be more helpful. His detailed introduction to the property and the guided tour were informative and easy to understand. His passion for providing the best experience spills over in bucket loads and you can sense his pride in his work. I would like to thank Mr. Sykes for allowing us to experience staying at the propertywe all loved it !
