High Green Cottage Reviews

Kirsty
Really lovely cottage - very comfortable and well provisioned. There was a very generous welcome pack when we arrived and a fantastic array of suggestions of what to do in the local area. Two nice pubs in walking distance, one of which did great food.
Joanne
An amazing cottage in a wonderful location. The host went out of his way to make our stay extra special. Would definitely recommend xx
Steven
A lovely, comfortable, quiet, traditional stone cottage in a great location. Ideal for walking from the front door and exploring the Northern Dales by car. The Red Lion pub is only 3 minutes walk away and the landlady was a mine of information on the local area and history.
Alan
This is a very comfortable and well appointed cottage in a beautiful and dramatic location. The owner is approachable, the welcome pack excellent, very comfortable beds. Many walks straight from the village. Just loved our week staying at High Green Cottage.
Poppy
High Green Cottage is a fab base for a Dales holiday. Tucked into Arkengarthdale, the cottage is quirky, well spec'd and tastefully designed. The owners really care which shows by the welcome items (beer & prosecco!) left in the kitchen, and the extensive & personally written cottage guide. We loved exploring the local area on foot from the cottage, and would highly recommend staying here.
Clifford
We found High green cottage to be very well presented and clean with lots of space for the 6 of us, was well furnished and appointed with good quality furniture and fixings. It had super comfy beds a wonderful bathroom with roll top bath and a cosy lounge with log burner, which we used even in June! Altogether a great property in a stunning location.
Sarah
We spent a lovely weekend at the cottage with four generations of our family. It was the ideal location for walking, swimming and sitting in the sun! Spotlessly clean and with everything you could need to enjoy a perfect break.
Hilary
Beautiful house in excellent location.
Catherine
Seven of us spent a short break over New Year at High Green Cottage. The cottage was everything we could have wished it to be. It was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and was very cosy and warm. The cottage is in a very pretty, small village with two pubs within easy walking distance. Unfortunately, the weather wasnâ??t always kind during our stay, but this just gives us a good excuse to go back! The scenery is truly stunning. We love walking and we were spoilt for choice. We got out and about during the days and spent the evenings cosied up in front of the log burner playing games. On New Years Eve, we cooked a 3 course meal and the kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We ranged from 10 years old to 56 years old and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and all agreed that we would love to come backâ?¦.maybe to see it during the summer months sometime! I donâ??t hesitate to recommend this property, itâ??s a beauty.
Katherine
We had a wonderful stay at High Green for Christmas. The cottage was immaculate and had everything you need. The location is beautiful with plenty of walks and two lovely pubs close by. The owners were great and so helpful with anything we needed. We can't wait to come back!
Nadine
This property has to rate as one of the best we have ever experienced in nearly fifty years of self catering holidays. Beautifully renovated the house is spacious, welcoming, warm and so well equipped. The roll-top free standing bath was a fabulous indulgence after a long day out walking. Our eleven year old granddaughter was delighted with the single split level bedroom/office complete with walk-in wardrobe. The welcome tray is a lovely touch and reflects the care and consideration shown by the owners. We spent many hours in front of the log burner, playing boardgames and enjoying a drink or two in the evening. For those who enjoy the spectacle of dark skies and stargazing this is the place for you. Arkengarthdale and Swaledale are truly impressive places and the information from the owners regarding walks was outstanding. Our family ages range from eleven to seventy eight and there was some thing for everyone. We do not hesitate to recommend the property and we will certainly be returning.
Bryan
This was one of THE most wonderful, beautiful and well located cottages that we have had the chance to stay in. The location, in Swaledale, is perfect for exploring, the owners were outstanding with their communication and kindness and the cottage was exceptionally well equipped, comfortable and cosy. You just couldn't ask for more!!
Emily
We had a wonderful family holiday at High Green Cottage. The property is beautiful decorated, spotlessly clean and is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed the cosy living room with lovely fairy lights and log burner going most evenings! (Having a supply of logs with an honesty box was incredibly handy!) The views from the patio and out of all the windows are simply breathtaking. There is an abundance of walks (many including pubs!) from the doorstep and plenty to do in the local area. We enjoyed walking along the river and a few pints in The Red Lion. We would certainly recommend this property and will definitely be returning!
